OK, admit it, who had Day 3?
We watched as the ship sail under the Ponte 25 de Abril bridge this morning before docking is Lisbon at about 8am. The first time we’ve been still for three days.
Armed with coffee we stepped out onto the balcony and as we were starboard side to the quay we had a beautiful view of Lisbon town. Lo and behold, down below us was the ambulance, waiting to cart somebody off. We were absolutely delighted when “Brian” lifted himself from the wheelchair and climbed aboard the ambulance himself. He looked old but not ill … is that uncharitable? 🙂
We had a good mile stroll into town and had a quick look at Lisbon; had the obligatory custard tart (in English), Pastel de nata (in Portugese). Unusually, they are served warm.
We found a really cool place called Time Out and it was full of little artisan food stalls, all gorgeous, could have stayed all day! As it was, and being by the sea, we had shrimp tacos and a beer 🙂
