Auckland
Well, we’re not as in love with Auckland as we have been with the rest of New Zealand but that’s not to say it’s bad … it’s full of Gucci and Louis Vuitton which I don’t like and are budget busting for us.
However, we couldn’t have been any closer to the town centre, it’s like Sydney … and the moon as we came into port this morning was beautiful.

We had to get the motorbike fix so hopped on a bus to the local Ducati dealer a little way outside of town first thing this morning. We have a friend who collects the t-shirts from Ducati shops the world over and we’ve been roped into collecting them when we go to places he doesn’t! Ducati – Sydney, Ducati – Austin, Ducati – Wellington 🙂
We came back to town around lunchtime and had a walk along a beautiful harbour side. All I’ve wanted since being in the southern hemisphere is a lobster roll … Google told us there was a lobster shack along the waterfront and that it ONLY sold lobster rolls – I was salivating … it was shut!
We had to make do with a couple of beers but they were in a nice setting and coming up this weekend is the Auckland Boat Show so there was some spectacular crafts in the marina.

We had a bit of a wander round town, picked up a bottle of New Zealand Prosecco and came back to the ship.
Because we had a late departure, we decided to go off again for tea and have some proper seafood … oh man, my finger is there to give you a sense of scale! I had the prawns, Chris had the fish burger but in reality we shared them between us.

They had an interesting line in fencing in the restaurant we choose … gabions full of oyster shells.

Tauranga tomorrow 🙂 and then two days at sea 🙁 to Lautoka in Fiji.
