Blighty!

If you’d removed my sense of direction completely, I would have known that I’d woken up in England this morning!

However, I was ultra-glad to be home. It’s been an epic trip … the countries we’ve visited, the experiences we’ve had, the people we’ve met and our cabin steward, Christopher, deserves a special mention – he was THE perfect attendant. Sometimes, the cabin seemed to magically get cleaned and refreshed that often, we thought he just lived in our imagination!

We’d forgotten how to drive and having left Blighty in a fairly stable condition, we paid £1.91 per litre but thanks to the ‘The Orange Toddler’ we saw motorway diesel at £2.05 per litre – I don’t know how the companies sleep at night!

We are now trying to settle into “proper” retirement, those days at home when the garden or garage is calling and Table Top Mountain, a game drive or Waikiki beach isn’t on the agenda 🙂

However, that first cup of tea with rock hard Yorkshire water and a pizza that we recognised as down and dirty instead of fine dining was inhaled rather than eaten; and having taken a moment to worship the beauty, words cannot describe the bacon and tomato sandwich we had after waking up in our own bed!

Thank you for joining us on this journey!
