Tenerife
Tenerife today … a slow 3.5 mile amble around the town, and a lovely coffee and a pastry to keep our strength up 🙂
We stumbled on a local market where the size of the peppers were like melons and tomatoes we could have rowed to France in. We tried chicken empanadas … deep fried Cornish pasties, Spanish style … I can feel them hardening the arteries as I write! Bloody lovely though!
There were four cruise ships in today … a Saga cruise, a Costa ship that I wouldn’t have dared sail on – think Costa Concordia – and a German line that I’d never heard of as well as ours, so the quay was busy. The tourist souvenir shops wedged into alcoves in the harbour wall were doing a roaring trade!
We have two sea days now before hitting Cape Verde.
