PREPARATION

The spare bedroom looks like a bomb has hit it … slowly but surely we’ve been adding all of those things you just can’t live without – nail clippers, eczema cream, bug spray, bite relief pen just in case the bug spray missed one, pen and paper, puzzle books, reading books …

Because I don’t believe anybody has enough pants to last 100 days we’ve had to buy wash pods and I’ve put a few clothes pegs in there too!

And because we’re getting old and things are starting to drop off or hurt a lot, there is also a small pharmacy building … plasters, paracetamol, essential meds, just-in-case meds and surely-this-can’t-be-still-in-date meds!

Because we’re going from Europe in winter to Australia in summer, I’m having to pack a bikini to wear under my duffle coat and I’ve made plans to cut the toes out of my wellies to make flip flops before we get to New Zealand!
